Masked Image

Masked Image

The world is full of problems
Of which I have a lot
Why is life so hard for me
I wish that it was not
It's just a part of growing up
I hear some people say
But no longer can I handle it
Not even one more day
Is ending life the answer?
I often hear them ask
I reasoned that of course it's not
Instead I'll hide under a mask
I'll be the person that they want
Kind, sweet, patient lil me
Then maybe when the future comes
Someone important I will be.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem because I fear that I can not be myself
anymore, I fear that's not what others want me to be.
