certainly thou are in love again

certainly thou are in love again
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and what if my heart were never tame
a flickering flare atop a white candle
tears trickle as melted wax from the flame
but how long will blow, the winds of blame
and how long can I sustain
on a candle fed by tears again
and now that thou are enraged
I know roses will not help
neither will the sound of tinkering bells
nor all the sea's golden grains of sand
nor forbidden fruit from the forsaken land
nor all the stars between Heaven and Hell
and if I ask, what would please thee?
I know thou will never tell
beware lest thy blood turn to bile
let anger not slay thy smiles
but save them for thy lover's eyes
and let it not fade the lusture in thy eyes
so they remain, fluttering butterflies
let love not be a journey in vain
let it calm thee
as raindrops quench the desert plain
and make place for love to grow
and make thy heart an emerald again
curl thy being into my treasured chest
let thy anger fade into a caress
and be embraced for an eternal rest
with someone to pay heed to thy groans
and to thy whimpers and moans
and upon whom thy eyes will feast
and at night shall thy dreams adorn
with his whispers and touch, at least
and pour goblets of wine into thy blood
and make thee prettier than a rosebud
and tomorrow when thou shall awake
thy fever will all but fade
 as a drop of water drenched in a lake
though fury will thou feign
certainly thou are in love again
