The Chip Pan Lid

by Tina ( Leo ) - Not entered

You wont believe what happened today
the chip pan lid simply rolled away
I went to take it off the pot
Ouch I shouted, the darn things hot
I let it go, it hit the floor
and rolled away towards the door
I made a grab, which made it turn
towards the fridge, I never learn
The gap twixt fridge and wall so small
it took with ease, no trouble at all
It rolled behind, Oh what disaster
jammed itself behind the caster
Now there it sits, gathering dust
and there it stays, my tempers bust
A major job to get it out
but not today is what I shout
So the chip pan sits and splatters oil
Which simply makes my temper boil
The cooker to clean, the fridge to pull out
this is real life, there is no doubt
One simple job has now made work
I know behind the fridge does lurk
the dust of days and weeks gone by
to clean up will my patience try
An early start tomorrow morning
I tell the family, with this warning
Keep out the way, whilst dust I rid
Just to retrieve that chip pan lid.

Reason for writing:

    It happened to me. Truly.
