the annual county fair

by kelli bircket (Aries) - Not entered

about this time a year ago
you won me that teddy bear,
and we shared a strawberry sno cone
at the annual county fair.
we sat in a seat ment for one
on the ride that spins around.
(i never thought i'd be so glad
to set foot on the ground!)
the cars we drove went real fast,
but i wanted to take it slow.
not knowing what laid ahead
or where the course would go.
and then you saw that roller coaster,
so scary and so high!
shaking, you convinced me to go along...
it felt like we could fly.
we felt so free up in the air.
we faced the fear together.
somehow we thought that the ride was
gonna last forever.
but things came to an end.
and you got off of the ride.
now i'm asking for you to let
your heart be your guide.
let's take the ride together again.
we won't hold on to the bar.
throw your hands up in the air.
the ride could take us far!
i know the thought is scary,
but we did it once before.
that was just a practice run.
this time could mean much more.
think of the excitement.
we'll face the fear together.
and who knows what may happen?
the ride could last forever.
'cause the roller coaster has improved
and cars can go real fast.
and i don't even care how long
the spinning's gonna last.
sno cones are made for two,
and I'LL win YOU a teddy bear.
our love could be like the roller coaster
at the annual county fair.
