Your Silent World

by Suzanne Sagitaries - Not entered

You use your hands to speak to the world.
You use your eyes for seeing everything said.
To be in your silent world
Must be hard.
I can't imagine what it's
Like not to be able to hear a spoken word,
The birds sing, or children at play.

At times it must be scary
In your silent world
As some people are cruel and mean.
They just don't understand
What it's like to be in your world.
What it's like not to hear a single thing.
To not hear the choir sing.

They say it's a shame
That you don't hear their words.
but you know wht they think by
The look on their face.
You know what they say
By the expressions you see.
You wish they understood
You are deaf
NOT inhuman.

Reason for writing:

well the reason I wrote this poem is because i thought People should know what its like be deaf and yes i do know a few deaf people and i even work with a deaf person and well he kinda inspired me to write the poem.
