Adala, Adala

by Adala Carter - Not entered

Adala
Adala
Yes, that is my name
What do you want? I won't complain.
I tremble in face of your disapproval
I'll go if all that you want's my removal.

I smile when you smile
Am sad when you frown
I'd jump too in the lake
If you'd happened to drown

Can I have a sign, a look, or a word?
Can it not be enough that it's all in my face?
I'm listening. Speak, and you will be heard.

Adala
Adala
I hear you, you're there.
I know that you're there and I know that you care.
Here is your sign, your look, and your word
I know that you listen; I know I am heard.
Here is my promise to you and you only
Without you I'm scared, frightened and lonely.

My life is you; you are my grace
It is as plain as can be on my face.

I am your life; I am your grace
And I can see it written plain on your face.
I have my sign, my look and my word.
I have spoken and you have heard.
I have my sign, my look and my word.
You have spoken and I have heard.
