Protector

by Megan Bailey*virgo - Not entered

When I was little
I thought you were my great protector.
You forgot to protect me from him.
You trusted him with me.
What a mistake.
You didn't protect me from him.
He hurt me and you let him.
Why didn't you protect me?
I grew older stopped trusting you.
I stopped craving your protection.
I turned to another for safety.
He protected me from others comments.
From their hands, but still he forgot one thing.
He forgot to protect me from,
The worst pain of all,
He forgot to protect me from himself.
From him breaking my heart.
Now who can I trust?

Reason for writing:

It's about my trust in 2 people being broken. I trusted them not to let me get hurt, they both failed. I now realize even when people say they will not let you get hurt it will happen, even if it's accidental.
