Upon the Rooftop of the World

by Steve - Not entered

When the sun becomes the night
And the stars eclipse the day
Innto nature I ride
Standing on the mountain top
Overlooking eternity
The still, yet bustling scene
Lay in my fingertips’ grasp
But my hands belong
To the one they hold
Delicately resting in embrace
And she stands there
Speechless
While the world stands still
And her eyes quench the life
She turns to face me
Brush back her hair
So flowing with the breeze
Upon the rooftop of the world
She locks her hold around me
Securing me in joy
As I gaze across my kingdom
All of this cannot compare
For I’d give it all away
To have the peace
And love of her

Reason for writing:

Most of my poems are written out of frustration. My one true insecurity is in relationships. Because I am afraid to
instigate them, I spend time sadly dreaming of a chance to succeed. This one is just a vision; one torn from my eyes.
