Paths

by Jo Virgo - Not entered

Life has a way of leading me down a path I don’t want travel
Leading to places I didn’t think I wanted to go
Instilling feelings of anger and fear
Wanting to know why I am here

Walking down this path of life, feeling alone
Building courage along the way
I meet souls unlike mine, still I feel I should not hide
I open up to let them in, helping me fly

Walking down this path of life, wanting to know why
Standing in the shadows, just waiting for me to go by
A shining soul, you reached out for me
I felt your warmth, your concern, waiting to walk with me

Walking down this path of life, confused and scared
I put my faith in you, wanting you, sharing with you
That soul that wanted to make me safe, share with me
That soul that had true meaning, suddenly disappeared

Walking down this path of life, it now has seemed to darken
Suddenly on my own, not knowing where I am going yet
Somehow knowing where I am, no longer afraid of where I will be
Looking back, I shall not do my mysterious soul .... I thank you

Reason for writing:

Memories of a relationship that disappered.
