Do you see me? My greyish eyes Like cloudy skies Pieces of me Do you hear me? Seek thoughts serene With ears so keen Pieces of me Do you mock me? The way you stare My skin, my hair Pieces of me Do you fear me? Of fury, might My hands to strike Pieces of me Do you hate me? With silent tongue I stand among Pieces of me
Reason for writing:
This is a poem about how a person's self-image is shaped by what other's say. My friends have really enjoyed the image of standing among the pieces of a broken mirror and seeing yourself reflected back, so I thought it'd be nice to share it.Birth sign: Not entered
