Never Sweet Atrocity

by M.R. Haden - Not entered

Darkness is a thing swallowed
Sucked in heart and head
And some of us wander lost
Romantic with the dead
And I say
          Never-Atrocity-Atrocity
And they pour the cup before me
When I haven't drunk my fill
And tie me to the wall
Where I reject all; I kick and spill
          Every poison you offer me
I'll not take part in your sweet atrocity
They pull my lips wide open
A tender mouth enraged
And force me in the water so my breathing stops;
'Tis fine--
In this atrocity I will not engage
Just because it's all you have
Doesn't mean it's what I'll take
Your best isn't good enough
And you'll never make me break
I deserve more than all that I've been given
And you take it as your right--
Advantage that I don't know better living
           But you see--I dream too
And I have seen far over Eden
Liar! Liar! Atrocity!
And you keep it all wrapped away
Behind closed doors and little lies
The blood in your mouth doesn't fade away
Even when you learn to scream properly
(it's still not singing) and you will sing
Atrocity.

Reason for writing:

Sometimes you feel taken advantage of, sucked into someone else's mental mind games. This is what it feels like. An Atrocity, made to look sweet.
