Vixen

by M.R. Haden - Not entered

I've been the watcher all this time
And nothing's ever right
I've been so wrong all my life
That I'm afraid to reach you
But if I could just touch your face
I know I would never leave you.

I want you in ways you've never been
In roads you've never traveled
I'd take you there in the roses
And let your dreams unravel.

In your eyes I see myself
And still what I could be
And God the way I burn to kiss you
Is an atrocity.

I know I'm not your first,
But you would be mine
In all seductions I've been cursed
I've never known the signs.

And in the light, the way you laugh
I'm certain it's your game
It turns you on to see me suffer,
You get off on my secret pain.

And I'm afraid to approach you
Because something always dies
And I'd be the one to hurt you
You'd be the center of all my lies.

I'd be the vixen you'd repent
The mistake you'd try to hide
Just one kiss; worth all laments
With your sex I'm crucified.

I know you've dreamt of me
In ways to make you blush
I know I've been your fantasy
Your little secret lust.

Your dark hair and your darker smile
How I'd love to turn you on
It's in your eyes and in your style
I'd make your flesh a sexual song.

Now this dance goes on
To a waltz that never ends
If I don't move into you soon
I'll be damned if we stay friends.
