Alone

by M.R. Haden - Not entered

I know just how angry you get
I know exactly how you feel
because every time you want to kill
I'm the one who knows it's real.

I'm the only one you can trust
I'm the only one you can kiss
Because I'm the only one who risks myself
     All alone, I'm never missed.

I'm the one who really knows, aren't I
I'm the one who opens up my fist
I'm the one who recieves the violence
     I'm the one who can't resist, can't I?

This is the way I've always been, Alone
And every turn you reach
     you find yourself a terror
Welcome to this world I've always known
Welcome to my everlasting horror

There is no one you can reach
     No one you can touch
This isolation, I love, oh so much
Hidden inside this wraparound box
I am the punisher of myself
And now you know what it's like
No where to run, and no one you can fight
     I'm the only one, Alone
And without me, everything falls apart.
