Flaming Adoption

FLAMING ADOPTION
Sun scorches down
Setting the tranquil jungler ablaze
Starving tiger
Searching for prey
Hears the helpless call of an ocelot
Thoughtlessly she roars back
Rapidly she charges into the overwhelming wreck of flames
Her strong and powerful legs
Beat harshly against the hard ground
Flames waltz like jagged lightning before her green eyes
Reds yellows and oranges blurring past
Fiecly she jumps over bodies
And puddles red as the flames
Ocelot cries again
Tiger hears her plea for life
But other than the flames no evidence of life appears
More determined than ever
Her eyes search the once lively jungle
Again Ocelot's cries peirce her ears
Closer,closer now
Mourning from the other animals confuses the already dazed tiger
Thunder booms in a far off sky
Bringing hope of rain
And life
Ocelot now appears
Backed up against a large rock
Fighting the flames
Almost ready to give up
At the sight of tiger she freezes in fear
Tiger see's she is only a cub
Her eyes turn from vicious to gentle and caring
She takes Ocelot in her mouth as though she were her own
Turning back to the searing path
Sparks clutch to their fur
Bolting forks
Jagged and light
Stab the earth
Bringing with them rain
Like tears of contentness from the jungles creatures
Soon fire dies out
Rain passes
Like it's only purpose was to set the fire out
Tiger and ocelot are now safe
In their den, their home
Mother and Father

Reason for writing:

I am in a gifted program in my education program and my teacher
focuses on poetry. We have all mainly been focusing on one thing this year
so our teacher told ur simply to write about what we know about so I thought
about it and I know a lot about tigers, ocelots and forest fires. I sat for a short while and in 20 minutes
this appeared on the page that had been empty. I swear I was unconcieous the whole time!!
