True Friend

by JoLynn Virgo - Not entered

I sat and stared from afar,
And slowly watched you get into the car.

A real true friend wouldn't have let you go,
But he promised to drive slow.

I watched as you pulled out of the drive,
And that was the last time I saw you alive.

I heard my mom's cryies from down the hall,
But already my tears had begun to fall.

They didn't have to tell me of your awful fate,
Or that it was because of you you drunk date.

I try to remember you beutiful smile,
and my sobbing ceases for awhile.

As I watch them put you into the ground,
I wish once your laughter would sound.

But never again will I see your face,
And the memory of the night I try to erase.

I remeber all the times we had been threw,
but I wasn't really a good friend to you.

A real true friend wouldn't have let you go,
Even when he promised to drive slow.
