There is something you may give yourself that others can't. If you find it in your heart you'll learn that it's important. It's a process everyone needs to cope with and accept. Hard as it may be to do you should learn to take that step. It will destroy so many things from which we can't get release. It puts courage inside us to help us reach inner peace. We are better people when we forget and learn to live. It's what we call forgiveness and it starts with -- I forgive. Copyright 1998 by Bobbie J. Brown

I wrote this poem because there are too many things in my past that I need to let go. People tell me that the first step is forgiveness. This is my way of helping myself to forgive.
