Walking the streets late at night All alone everyone out of sight Street lights cast a yellow glow In this part of the city I've come to know Sidewalks all covered in chalk Stop to read the writing as I walk Bobby loves Sue that's what it said Bobby and love were written in red My mind flashes back to my childhood To chalk covered streets in the hood How long has it been since I was young Never thought I'd be carrying a gun Just another pig dressed in blue Risking his life to serve and protect you Hoping someday you call me friend Building a trust that will never end (c) 1998 Si H.
