Crumble

by Steve - Not entered

On shattered glass I lie
To silent voices calling
With broken dreams I stumble
Whispering to deaf ears
Of forgotten hope
To sleeping dreams I cast my heart
With wings of iron
To weight me down
These pins in my veins
And tape seals my lips
Ancient cinder falls at my feet
Across rotten hardwood floors
So tainted with tears
Of past forgotten heroes
With wounded sighs I lay here
With stolen pride I falter
Without love I crumble...
For your eyes stare no longer
In my direction
No glow in those stars
For I am but forgotten once again
And when I break and stumble
Around me you won't be
Without you I will crumble...
But not into your arms
