remember

by stacy-ares - Not entered

as the carnival
roars with harrowing clangor
we sipped the summer

in big gulps without
breathing we drank the summer
down with lemonade

reminding us of
the peaceful days in crisp fall
and the breeze of spring

whispering quiet
thoughts of the snowflakes of white
and serenity

as the carnival
roars with harrowing clangor
we sipped the summer

down...
      down...
            down...

until the peaceful
fall nuzzles the summer away
til we hope it yet...

comes again
