Generation X

Generation X

Doesn't it rot inside you
To know that we're standing still?
'Cuz we're part of the generation
That's basically out to kill,
Themselves and others around them
And no one seems to care
'Cuz friends are trends,
And drugs mean hugs
And that's the way it goes--

Oh, is this what we've come down to?
Your candy coated shells
When your thoughts have clouded your mind
Where's the line defined between heaven and hell?
Living in this ecstasy you call home,
Your trends become a passion
Forget this learning experience
This time let's go for fashion.

Generation of inaffection
There's a red mark in the book-
On where we've been and where we are
And it's sad we're nearly beyond hope
When we've tumbled down this far
And knowing where we're going
Warping our minds on the way
Never ever running, but telling ourselves to stay.

Weapons flying left and right-
Knowing we've found ourselves without protection
Threats and deaths and violence
Does this toil never seas?
And after your rage has cleared,
Are you faced with what you've feared?
Yourself with yourself-
The dark void of your mind--

And I'm part of a Generation of inaffection-
There's a red X in the book
On where we're going and where we are,
And it's really truly scary that we've tumbled down this far.
Oh, leaving ourselves with no one
Severing ourselves on the way
Never ever advancing
But forcing ourselves to stay....

Generation, X
