Moonlit Riverbed

by Chris Sheffler - Aries

When you look into my eyes, what do you see?
Everything that you've ever wanted, or only just me?
You speak words of mystery and act just the same,
but who are you calling to, what is their name?
I'd always wisehed it was me, for so very long,
but now as I hear your voice singing, I know I was wrong,
down the banks of the Nile, my lonely heart drifts away,
for it has lost all hope of you love coming to me today,
like the crystalized tears that fall down my face,
they're worthless like diamonds without your love in this place,
without you there is no sunlight on my garden of hope,
and without your love near, it becomes so hard to cope,
I've waited forever to find someone that was perfect like you,
but like all the rest, you mocked me, which was nothing new,
another day passes in my prison of self-doubtr and pain,
without my dear angel, then the night shall bring on the rain,
tomorrow's forever, and yesterdays have passed away in vain,
but the moments we spent together, in my heart will always remain...
