For Liz

by Emily Simon (saggitarius) - Not entered

For Liz

We hugged on that final day goodbye
Or maybe not so final, but ending enough
you couldn't see the tear in my eye
its only summer, but still, it's tough

We met 4 entire years ago,
or call it 1460 days if you like
Liz, from Boise, Idaho
and poor little Emily, still crushing on Mike. (lol)

The year passed by with our Mimi Fair
and the Hacker Trail's decisions too
(Emily FINALLY grew out her hair)
and Liz went to JO's in Fly and relays too!

Next came 5th, man were we scared (at least I was)
for Middle School (eek) and new teachers
Liz came very well prepared
and Emily, still a timid little creature.

Then 6th came along and with it a new guy!
And of course, poetry books, and Greece,
Liz did Alexandra's and it was real fly
and Emily's book was called Marysa's Masterpiece.

So when 7th rolled around we were prepared for the worst,
and it came, with stolen lunchboxes (we'll never know the thief)
and at the end a field day (where Emily died of thirst)
and DC, which actually GOING there, was a big relief.

While we were in DC some changes rolled around
and Emily got scared and completely freaked out
but Liz helped her get up off the ground
and realize what Roughians were really about.

Though Emily thought the friendship was ending,
Liz held her ground and turned out right
For all the time our fighting was spending
The future came around and it looked real bright.

So now, Liz, we're Roughians, and proud of it too,
and our friendship is stronger than ever we know.
and we'll stay best friends in whatever we do.
Roughians is the way to go.

So if we're talking to hot guys in the hotel hall,
Or spitting off balconies in the heart of downtown,
we'll always be together, even if you get tall (sorry that was weak!)
and brighten up even the saddest of frowns.

If Hottie comes along, and he steals the show,
or if Liz FINALLY realizes her love for James,
we'll still be eating raw cookie dough,
and I'll be there when you reach fame.

Cuz Liz what we have is special for sure,
and nothing can break it
if you're feeling sick then I know the cure
a smile and a hug will make it.

When I sat down to write this little diddy of a poem
I had nothing to say, nowhere to go
but soon the words came easily, and left my fingertips
Because Liz I love ya man! and that's all there is.

Reason for writing:

Liz this is for you, to let you know how much our friendship means to me.
I hope u like it!
