If These Be Dreams then I Surrender

If These Are Dreams then I Surrender

Lately it seems my life's been going on without me
I have nowhere to go and nothing to be
I float around daily on an obscure whim
no purpose, no love, lights are growing dim.

I find myself within a dream
I can't get out, I cannot scream
I simply take each day by one
When will this dreaming all be done?

Lately I've found if it's a dream I'm within
I'll let my mind wander, let the dreams win.
They may get me far, or just somewhere near
but I listen to these dreams and its them that I hear.

I let them run my mind and soul
who knows when I'll awake, its my only goal
But in the meantime I'll sit and wait
dreams cant come if you hesitate

Though the night is lonely and sometimes it's long
the end will come shortly like a great, great song.
It's my song and I will let it ring
from earth to sky and everything.

I'll let it ring inside my soul
and float around this heav'nley bowl
I'll let it ring until daylight'll come
It's my inner being, my inner drum.

I'll march to it tall and proud
display my colors, unveil this shroud
Live within my dreamy state
its predetermined, its my fate

Should I never wake from my innocent dreams
then I'll never awake to now, as it seems
My life will go on with someone else in control
and believe it with my being and with my soul

If these are dreams, then I surrender
let them take me in their splendor
But someday I'll wake from this dreamlike slumber
for I have so many dreams, too many to number

If these are dreams......

Reason for writing:

    Just because.
