Is it better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all? Let me ask you then, Have you ever REALLY loved? Have you ever REALLY loved and lost? You say you have fond memories, Those happy memories of the past. But what good are those memories When it is them that causes the pain? And how is it better to have felt Such love and warmth and care, And then have it all taken away? Have it disappear from before your very eyes. How is it better to have been there, And then return to emptiness, To being sad and being alone? I'd rather things the way they were, I was content and happy and satisfied. Ignorant perhaps of what was possible, But is it better now To know what is possible? To know that I reached the sky but fell? To know what I could but don't have? Is it better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all?

Breaking up with my girlfriend and
wondering was it all worth it - for the hurt and
lonliness I felt afterwards.
