Grandmother

by Jimmy P Aries - Not entered

Where are you going?
You're leaving us?
Always you were there,
Rock of eternity,
Rock of strenght and wisdom.
Sharp words,
You had a few to say,
And the strenght to say them out,
And when I was a child,
I was oft' on the receiving end.
When there was work to be done you did it,
Never moaned or cowered away,
Even now that age has won you,
You have planty left to say.
So now you feel His fingers,
Hear Him calling you,
But you're not giving in,
Make Him fight for this one,
Do not go gently,
Wherever you are going,
Don't stop loving us.
Don't be afraid,
We're right beside you.

Reason for writing:

To my grandmother who has only weeks left to live.
