Believing In Wishes

by Bobbie J. Brown - Scorpio

If I saw a falling star,
I'd wish I had your heart
to all myself, I wouldn't share
because I'm the one you'd want to care.

If I believed in wishing wells,
I'd toss in a handful of nickels
for all the times I'd need you near
so it could be my I love you that you'd hear.

If I found a rainbow's pot of gold,
I'd cash it in whether new or old
because your worth is priceless
and it's you that brings me happiness.

If I picked a three-leaf clover,
I'd hold onto it forever
to give me luck in all I do
and maybe then I'd have you.

If I could use a magic wand,
I'd cast a spell to get all I want
and use my magic to make you fall
head over heals in love, once and for all.

If I had my own fairy God mother,
I'd ask her to please go and whisper
all those sweet nothings I cannot say
to make you realize that you feel the same way.

If I sent my prayers above,
I'd sit and wait to receive your love
because if I truly do believe,
someday you'll be here and not in my dreams.

Reason for writing:

I am beginning to realize that dreams are all that I have to hold onto. Sometimes I feel that if I just keep on believing in what I want, it will come true when the time is right.
