Symphony

by Jimmy P Aries - Not entered

A symphony of demons played inside my head,
As the gates of Eden closed and left me there for dead,
And all the time I wondered why it had to be like this
When Cupid fired his arrow did my lover make him miss?

Did she whisper in his ear, seduce him to her bed,
Put loads of little fantasies inside his little head?
With the demons looking down, smiling with delight,
As she tore his bleeding heart out, dissappearing in the night.

Now I hear their ugly voices and the ugly songs they sing,
As they come knocking on my door, with little gifts to bring.
But what big eyes they have and what sharp teeth too,
As they smile down at your face and then rip into you.

Now the gates of Eden still are closed, the demons still serenade,
The broken dreams lie everywhere as the demons start the trade,
One heart for another as the hammer calls the deal,
And it's my lover calls the prices for the hearts that cannot heal.
