One day they said, things will change and you will move on
I remember the day as if it were yesterday. My heart still bears the scars
For as long as I can recall, you have been with me. Protective little boy and now strong man.
We faded in and out, off and on, almost like a television set. How funny, sometimes it would seem like we had just met.
I know you and you know me..we have changed, you and I...but we are still the same caring, warm souls inside...hearts beat
We always think that we are in control, until the great of all things takes over, the heart has control. Who knows what to do???
Maybe what needs to happen is for the eyes, heart, hands, body..to connect again
Is there current flowing fastly through our hearts still or is it over
The only way I know to tell is to let my heart have a listen and a feel. The heart will know what to do...
I have faith in you and me, and whomever we come across. Just have faith that we will be forever meshed in this world of ours.
Somehow, we will find a way..to stay together until our dying last day.
Reason for writing:
I wrote it about a love I have had in my life since I was in the 8th grade. We were off and on out of each other's lives for so long. I still love him and he loves me, but I don't know if we will ever rekindle what we once had.
