A Mother's Death

by lily--leo - Not entered

He sits and wonders
He doesn't understand why
Someone so kind must suffer
So much

He sits and watches
She takes her last breath
Her hand goes limp
His tears flow freely

He sits and listens
The preacher talks
Her pain has ended, her mountain climbed
She has gone to rest in the hands of God

He sits, he watches, he listens,
He can't understand, he doesn't know why
His mother mad to suffer
Why his mother died.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this for a friend of mine whose mother recently dies of cancer.
