Grandma, Don't Die

by Joanna Gemeni - Not entered

I can't believe that you're gone,
I don't want it to be true.
It's hard for me to picture
my life going on without you.
Grandma, can you hear me?
Are you smiling down on me from above?
I know that you are happy now,
in a place that is filled with love.
I didn't want to lose you,
but now you're in a place where there is no pain.
A place beyond my wildest dreams,
when there is sunshine beyond every rain.
I miss you so much
and my heart can tell you so.
I still love you every second of every day,
more than you can ever know.
My children to come will be told of your beauty,
of the wisdom in your eyes.
I will always remember how you made me happy,
and how you saw truth beneath the lies
You made me smile when I wanted to cry.
and made me laugh when I needed to.
You told me that you would never die,
you live on in my heart, so I know that it's true.
