Your Complacency In Not Knowing

by Andrea Watkins *capricorn* - Not entered

Why resist, reluctant eyes,
My burning touch?
Too much for you
To feel
Warning!
Caution!
This may be real.
Please jump off
Should it be
Simply, utterly
Fantastic.
And when it sounds
Dreamish --
Too good to be true,
I'll start to laugh
And I will bid you adieu!

Reason for writing:

So many people love to live their lives in what I call the bubble of denial. Reality is something most people don't like to think about......it's too honest. This poem was written after I went on a date with yet another guy who just seemed so happy with NOT KNOWING anything more than what was on the surface. -- And I mean that in the broadest of terms: life, love, people, etc.
