Afternoon

by Kitty M - Not entered

what did you expect?
if you come up to me when I'm sleeping
painless blank thought perfect world
and pull my toes and say piggies
of course I'm going to snarl at you.
if I did that to you
four letter words would fill the house
so why should it be any different?
because I'm still little and cute
you think.
not so little anymore
like the baby rabbit you bought at Easter
that weighs twenty pounds by June.
Not so cute either
like the kitten that grows
into the hissing cat that doesn't want
to sit in your lap now or be petted.
