Reflections of a Lighthouse Keeper

Reflections of a Lighthouse Keeper

Up and up you go,
to let the light cast its glow.

111 more steps to go,
you’re so rigidity and slow.

there you are at the top,
so greatefull you can stop.

strike a match,
open the steel hatch,
light the wick,
don’t close the hatch to quick.

now you’re done,
now there is no sun.

because up came the moon,
boats are coming soon.

looking back, you give a frown,
you still have to go down.

Reason for writing:

    I love lighthouses.
