My Journey

by The Stranger - Taurus - Not entered

Today I began a journey
One that was started once before
Today I looked ahead
And bravely opened the door
Today I began to stop the storm
That rages in my mind
Today I looked into the world
Curious, unafraid, of things to find
Tomorrow the doubt may return
And my courage may wain
But now I know
That the future can heal the pain
Once I was so alone
Felt punished for a crime
But now I feet the sentence served
So many years have passed in time
So, today I began a journey
Though there are still many miles
Today I looked at the beginning of life
And couldn't suppress a smile
I still have worries and fears
I still have guilt and doubt
But today I took the step
And one day I will be out.
Today I saw the world again
And felt out of place with the free
But soon I will join them
For today I began my journey.
