heiroglyphs

by Chris McCool - Not entered

suspending the breath
for a moment to cherish quickly
and to embalm so that it will last
                                 forever

like a pharaoh built to last
with golden staff and sword at his side
shiny coins and precious stones

                 i want you
pulled over just like a blanket
because i am a preservative through and through
and you are important to my eyes
and an essence poured deep in the soul
that makes my heart turn into a circus

i rain down on you by the roadside
only in hopes to see you shimmer.
