Once upon a time, there lived a lonely man in a country town. Who walked his dog through roads and trails both up and down. Although sad and alone was he, was never his wish to be. For things have a way of going astray and fate unkind you see. Then one day along came a woman he obviously knew nothing about. She came to him, she talked with him, attracted he was without a doubt. He enjoyed so much the time he spent just to be with her He thought she too was quite content all signs to so concur. One day she said for a picnic on Sunday they should so endeavor. Elated he was a wish to come true he thought had been lost forever. He tried that day to let it be known how much he really cared. Upset she became and she put to an end anything else to be shared. Of all the things he did not want to do was to cause her any displeasure. It happened, for reasons unknown but who got the greatest measure. In all his life he had never known a hurt in quite that way. He found it then, he knows it now, he will for many a day. Troubles she had but so did he, he thought they would overcome. He did you see to a great degree but to hers she did succumb. There is no way to know how she felt for him, of that she did conceal. She may never have cared she may not have dared she never did reveal. He can never forget the woman he met down at the station one day. He will always hope some change may occur to bring her back his way. He still walks his dog most every day but somehow it’s not the same. For memories linger of those summer days when a little happiness came. If you ever by chance see him one day and unhappy he does seem. It may be because of the friend he lost and the end of an other dream
