Evil

by Victoria-Scorpio - Not entered

Yours is a face I can’t forget
A love I wish I could remember
A time when things felt right
A time when you were all I knew
A time frozen in my heart
Locked away, deep inside
The day you ceased to care
Now I think
I want to see you,
To gaze into eyes I loved
To remember what it meant to feel
To speak to you again
As if for the first time
What would I say,
I would ask you who you are
For now I’m afraid I never knew
The way we were, two souls as one
Wrapped up inside of each other
Protecting one another from
The evils all around
So short, so sweet
Was the time we had
Its safe now, from you
Inside of me, a place
You’ll never be again
For I can see clearly now
What I was blind to then
That the only evil I need fear
Is hidden in your smile,
And buried in your love.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem about my first love. He is someone who cut very deeply into my heart, and whom I still love for who he was when I first met him. I am since moved on, but today for some reason, he came into my mind, and I let my mind take a little trip, and this was the destination...Enjoy...
