Yours is a face I can’t forget A love I wish I could remember A time when things felt right A time when you were all I knew A time frozen in my heart Locked away, deep inside The day you ceased to care Now I think I want to see you, To gaze into eyes I loved To remember what it meant to feel To speak to you again As if for the first time What would I say, I would ask you who you are For now I’m afraid I never knew The way we were, two souls as one Wrapped up inside of each other Protecting one another from The evils all around So short, so sweet Was the time we had Its safe now, from you Inside of me, a place You’ll never be again For I can see clearly now What I was blind to then That the only evil I need fear Is hidden in your smile, And buried in your love.
Reason for writing:
I wrote this poem about my first love. He is someone who cut very deeply into my heart, and whom I still love for who he was when I first met him. I am since moved on, but today for some reason, he came into my mind, and I let my mind take a little trip, and this was the destination...Enjoy...Birth sign: Not entered
