Whisper

by David Shores - Not entered

Last night I heard a whisper,
my name called on the wind,
it ask me to listen
it asked me where have I been,

through the darkness I tried to reply,
holding in the silence for I could not lie,
I have been here was is what I said,
lying and waiting in my bed,

do not lie the voice had said,
for I have seen what is in your head,
there is nothing on the other side,
so why must you choose to die,

It is not death that I choose,
but lack of life that I refuse,
in daylight the memories all fade,
when in the dark I become afraid,
troubled by shadows in the night,
haunted by faces in the light ,
I can not live in these thoughts

do not try said the voice,
for we all have to make a choice,
stand and fight for there is your way,
and then the whisper faded away,

I listen to words and another day rose,
I guess thise time it is life I chose,
