Starring off towards those yonder trees, I smile at how life use to be, The squirrels are running round and round, Never one coming close to me on the ground, I lay there effortlessly, Looking at the sky reaching above me, Thinking what could be, Looking at the clouds and thinking what do I see And then time comes back again Back to reality where I have not been A memory comes flashing back Something hidden in my past I stand there staring at you, But there are things of all shapes and hues, Darkness that fills the hordes, And emptiness is felt along those shores The waves crash in upon rocks As I strive to find you once again along the docks And then I reach for your hand But it’s beyond the place that I stand You’ve drifted farther from me and time has passed No more letters or dinners of romance My heart has been broken in two And this is what I have been hiding from you...
Reason for writing:
I tried to hide the pain and dissapointment I felt when my
boyfriend broke up with me, but it kept coming back so I
decided to write about it instead so I could better deal
with it. Keeping something bottled up is bad for the soul.
