Distance

by Nathan Glen - Not entered

To tell you to leave is unfair,
but how can I show.
The way I feel about you,
how can I make you know.

I don't remember life before us,
it's like your always there.
But to be taken apart,
this I could never bear.

As the long days drift by,
I slowly slip your mind.
To think there could be another,
someone else for you to find.

It would destroy my soul,
and tear me apart.
Life seemed so easy,
at the start.

So alone with out you,
wanting you there by my side.
The thought of you forever,
as my beautiful bride.

Your heart in the distance,
miles and miles away.
My love runs so deep,
that even words can't say.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem when I was 16, after my girlfriend and I broke up.
