Guillotined

by Mark Serrano - Not entered

Watching the crowds cheered their hero
Slowly, strolling to the pulpit of fame
Smiling, waving to everyone
And everyone did salute him.

Then he came to the platfrom
Still smiling and waving with tears in his eyes
He made a speech that made everyone cry
And then he turned his back.

Silence did wrapped everyone
Tranquilled by this very moment
Then their hero took his black medal
And glanced once more to everyone.

Thus, it happened.

Then everyone returned to their past.
Some shook their heads.
Others stood.
But it happened.

Then they cheered their hero
Heroes will always be heroes...
and he will be remembered.
For he took the road not taken.
