untitled

by X-ChiKa Gemini - Not entered

Throughout those lonely, maudlin years,
Complaints, restraints, replaced by tears,
Only patches in the dust,
Passion gone for life, for lust.
Whispered thoughts from helpless faces,
Hope which fled from ruined places.

And above all this we fly,
Our bodies outlined on the sky.
Taking refuge from the sea,
Escaped from paradise have we.

Where did you go
When all I asked was sacrifice?
A little selflessness, form your soul
You paid in full, with no small price.

Beneath that shell we call a home,
Wrapped in thunder, steeled by pain,
Bursts forth from deep a verse of poem
Whetting tongues like glorious rain.

Now spurious, we once were wise,
But then we mastered sacrifice,
Now are lives rely on luck,
When once we lived in paradise.

Sadly now, we take what’s left,
From Armageddon-ravished days
The days that left us dead, bereft,
Are trapped inside our woeful gaze.

We twist our minds to understand,
The moments left for us to live,
As we hold on tightly to our hearts,
And use this moment to forgive.

Those shadows whom we should despise.
Have now been blessed with our belief
That they have suffered greater lies,
And now they’re trapped in paradise.

Reason for writing:

There is no reason for this poem. I sat down and thought, I'm going to write a poem. I also want to turn it into a song somehow.
