Fear

by Brad Gray - Not entered

Sitting here as I often do
Thinking only of you
I often wonder why it is
You that I pursue

That question often answered simply
“Just take a look at her”
Over any other beauty
It is you that I prefer

I love everything about you
But alas it will not be
Never will you fall for me
This I can foresee

Forever will I love you
I shan’t feel less for thee
Never could an angel fall
For a rat like me

I will always sit here longing
For the day you change your mind
But if that is to happen
It is the truth that you must find

The truth about me you must seek
Leave the lies behind
For no one knows me like you do
I’m quiet and confined

Unfortunately you turn your eyes
So you can’t see what’s true
You’re scared that if you see the truth
That you will love me too
