Diminishing

by Todd - Leo - Not entered

Funny how quickly you seem to forget
All the times I’ve given something up for you.
Now the only thing I ever do is sit
Pondering if your loving embrace was ever true.

Once I was able to wake up in the morning to see your face
With the warmth of your body heating my once cold heart.
Now I’m in a constant race
To catch my lost soul since we’re apart.

My soul starts again to turn back cold
Empowering me to contain more madness.
Such careless feelings quickly grow old
Yet cannot be released only restrained by this sadness.

As hope grows weary
With the darkness enveloping me.
I shall wait patiently
For what will be will eventually be.

Reason for writing:

The everlasting hope that one day the one I truely love will be with me yet again. Meanwhile I can only wait.
