Casualties

by Jennifer/Libra - Not entered

Calloused eyes relax in this darkened room
The wounds hidden in the absence of light
Blood seeps through the confinements of this tomb
Betraying the visions within my plight

Finally silence overpowers pain
And quiets the whispers of insanity
At last cease the voices that chant my name
As I embrace this calm tranquility

Vaguely remembering the lessons taught
More is forgotten with each dying breath
The war's last battle has just been fought
Victory greets the soothing hand of death

Refuge sought within the tears of sorrow
Your potent remedy I now borrow

Reason for writing:

I wrote this a few years ago... It is a reflection on my own suicide attempts stemming from the loss of my two best friends to suicide
