My People

by Sue Ling - Not entered

Are we not human?do we not have feelings
Why is it so many say we no belong
Do we not listen to words of a song
I cast my eyes to the heavens above
Asking my God to send us love

Are we not human?with a heart and soul
Do we not look upon others as being whole
My people suffer from hate and lies
Spread by the one with the hollow eyes
Look deep in my eyes and you will see
True love and compassion flowing free

Are we not human?do we not belong
In this world of peace there is wrong
My people suffer and they die
Asking only for a chance to smile not cry
My people only want to be free live in harmony
Come to America braking the bonds of slavery

I hope some day it all come true
Love and peace bestowed on both me and you
My people know hate has no place to hide
We only know love putting our anger aside
We are all human we all must belong
