Middle of the Fog

by Steve - Leo

Caught between myself and who I wish to be
Too many sighs
And long, silent pauses
Grabbing the blanket tight in embrace
There's footsteps in the corridor
Walking swiftly by my door
Open with invitation
Torn in the one who stepped inside
With arms spread wide open
Myself stands up
My arms reach out
As if to hold
My mouth drops open wide
My hands, upon themselves
Are pushing her outside
What the hell have I just done?
I think while closing the door
My hunger's food
My ice's flame
And I just walk away?
Another sigh
Another dream
She came to me
Just as I need
But why is she wrong?
