Curious Eyes

Curious Eyes

He stands together with her
Watching them walk by...
Some alone, some taken, some lost
He is intruiged by the many
He stares, sheepishly, unconcously,
daring...
He smiles to himself, by the thoughts, the ways, if only he could.
He glances back at her, innocently,
almost scared.
His eyes deny the fear she see's.
She turns away, unwillingly, in anger, knowing it will pass, hoping it won' happen again.
He glances off again.
His curiousity overtakes him.
She watches his eyes, his emotions, his wanting...
She dies inside.

He returns to her, seeing the confusion set in her eyes.
He is clueless, lost, yet deep down knowing his failure...
Her heart tears, her soul and mind fighting a battle.
Questions arise and spin in her head.
Has she lost his attraction, his love, his heart?
Does he need to be set free?
Does he want more than what she can give?
Has she failed?
She cries inside, hurt, in pain, yet he see's none.
He is decieved by her smile...or is she?
One glance can break a heart, yet one glance can bond them.
Should she run from him...or to him?
SHould she believe in herself...or him?

He reaches for her, she hesitates.
Questioning if he really wants her..if she is his true desire.
His touch is cold, empty, lost, and painful...
Again...she dies inside.

She stops, pulls away..
He stares, wondering, yet knowing he is to blame.
She turns and walks, broadening the pain between them.
He calls out, she looks back.
She see's him standing alone, amongst them....in slow motion.
His eyes and hand scream for her.
He see's her tear filled eyes, wet cheeks, and can feel her broken heart.
She continues again, never again looking back.

He knows she is gone..
He is lost in his emotions...
His curious eyes wander no longer..
For this time,
He dies inside.

Reason for writing:

The reason I chose to write this poem
was due to a relationship conflict I was
having with the love of my life. I had a fear
in my heart that he was not who he said he was.
However, I was wrong....I've been blessed beyond
measures. He is..and always will be my only love.  :o}
