Autumn Bliss

by brando31 - Not entered

Walking through these dense woods,
I can see the season’s change.
No more blazing heat,
No more shoeless feet.
The summertime is done for,
The enchantment of fall time has come ashore.

I sit under this tree,
As soft and silent
   as anywhere can be.
I glance into the glittering sunset;
A clear blue sky, a day’s end
   has been met.

Peacefulness surrounds me,
Not a building in sight.
A few whispery sounds,
A lover’s delight.

The serenity of it all,
Watching the leaves of the Great Divide fall.
And as I move on my way,
A howling of wind begs into play.

As darkness fills the sky,
I am almost home.
But tomorrow will come,
And I’ll continue to roam.

Back through the woods,
The utter stillness of it all.
The rustling of the leaves,
I wish all year round were fall.

Reason for writing:

looking outside at the falling leaves. wonder of nature.
