Memories of June

by hayley*virgo - Not entered

A sweet surrender
to the past
settles in my thoughts
my mind wanders off
and up in the clouds
while my body becomes
as limp as you were
the one night with her.
Remember, back when-
that last week of June
I had to leave the party early?
and when I came back for my purse
I found more than that leather
I found my life torn apart
I found my heart shattered
I also found a knife, but
I couldn't break down the door
fast enough, before they had tied me down
and you, her and our promises had slipped out the window.

Reason for writing:

my lover, best friend, soul mate of two years cheated on me
with my best friend.
